It’s Thanksgiving week! I hope you and your family enjoy this time together and are able to reflect upon all that you are grateful for. Never underestimate the power of a “Thank You” when collaborating with your child’s IEP team. Most school and district employees began their professions in the hopes of impacting children’s lives, but that impact can be lost in all of the paperwork and politics. Thanking your child’s IEP team members for the individual work they do with your child (even if tensions within the team have been high) will boost morale and collaboration within the team. When collaboration improves for an IEP team, the child wins!
